Mexican Opal Oval Ring
Mexican Opal Oval Ring
Also known as “the bird of paradise stone”. This stone is formed by volcanos. Silica-rich lava and mineral-rich water seep into a host rock and form Mexican Fire Opals under pressure.
Just like other Opals, they are amorphous, they don’t have a specific crystalline structure. They instead have microscopic spheres of silica that act as prisms and reflect light beautifully.
Mexican Opals range from light yellow all the way to rich red, hence the “Fire Opal” nickname.
